Stopped in for lunch while in the area for work. It's a large place with a great atmosphere. I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich basket. The portion was huge. I could've made 3 sandwiches out of the one. Fries were fresh and service was quick. I like a little more smoke and season on my meat but overall it was good food.
This is a FAMILY owned business and my friend took me here as a visitor from Southern California! She RAVED about Straight off the Road BBQ and I came over along to check it out as my first time in Texas and first time for Texas BBQ! I got the chopped beef combo and it was a sandwich, a side of fries or chips, and a drink! The service when ordering was amazing! They walked me through the whole process of what was good and popular! In addition, the ambiance of the restaurant was very rustic and homey due to the family posting photos around the restaurant! TIP: You can park out on the front and near the drinks, you can get you fix-ins such as Jalapenos and peppers!
Great tasting meat, large portions, wonderful and quick service. The atmosphere of the open area and all thinga Texas was nice too. Clean with country music to enjoy your meal what else could you ask for?! We will definitely be back.
BEST BBQ EVER... the BBQ sauce the potato salad and baked beans will make you come back like an addiction!!!!! I've always like Spring Creek but this place is by far better taste wise. Not crazy about the name of course ...sounds like "road kill" but I promise you ,,,,,you will not regret eating here. Best family atmosphere and BBQ ever. Great food.....you will be ruined for anyone elses potato salad and baked beans............nothing else beats their food.
I love this place. I come to Crosby a couple times a year to the IUOE down the block, I always try to come here and get some Texas steak. The steaks here never disappoint and you can go down the block and get your some beer or liquor and they let you drink it here. Last time I was here was June 14-19, 2024. We drank until they closed shop. Staff is very nice from my experience.
These kinds of BBQ places are the best kind. Yes I know this is not my typical review, but you see I am kind of in a review rut right now and Don't really have a story to tell. Do you ever get into those ruts where you lose all creativity? That's where I am. But not this place. They have good food and in thinking about it, now I feel like BBQ.
